catch up

well you guys it's been such a busy time as I'm sure it has been for you too,today is my first day I have got to spend at home on my own well with Xena too.It snowed here big time last night,Xena and I were out walking when it started she was quite perplexed by it all trying to catch the flakes and kept having a good shake as they landed on her.Late last night it was a couple of inches deep in the garden and she was not sure about going out in it kept lifting her feet up was funny to watch.Today most of it had gone but the paths here were slippy and I was nervous but we managed a good 2hr walk most off lead when I knew she would be safe to be.Spent most of this afternoon just having a good sort out and clear up,washing usual stuff.I had some great gifts all useful and what I needed,got to watch my grandaughters on Skype too that made my day but emotional too just miss my son so much but he says they are coming home this next year for holiday so can't wait for that.

Went out to the pub Christmas Eve with neighbors had a lovely time too,the pub is about a mile and half from home we drove there and left the car and walked home,Janet and I took off about midnight to walk home leaving the guys way behind,Janet insisted on walking in the middle of the road (she'd had a few beers) a police car drove past,I said hope you can't get pulled up for walking in the road and low and behold he turned the car round and pulled up along side us.Get in ladies I will give you a lift home!!!! he said in a very strong Scottish accent,can't have you wondering around in the middle of the road in the dark now can we??I did have a very good strobe torch with me,but in we got anyway,he was really nice and I was happy to just get home.

The dog training school Christmas party was brilliant too,so funny lots of silly games with owners and dogs,Xena and I got third in the musical hoops game,the dance demo went good too,Xena did so good kept in step all the time I was proud of her,egg and spoon race well my fault I cannot run for toffee!! but good fun anyway.

Sounds like you've had a wonderful Christmas! The egg and spoon race sounds exciting, I bet it was lots of fun

I had the family over for Christmas Day Dinner, and it all tasted great....except the parsnips which may have ended up a bit chargrilled so they went in the bin! Considering how much I cooked, I can live without a few parsnips, lol! Sara and Scrumpy Jack both had a little christmas dinner each, which the scoffed down with gusto, and then we opened presents. They both got spoilt rotten, and we spent a good 20mins watching them open their presents; mainly because Scrumpy Jack kept trying to open Sara's, while Sara isn't quite figured out this whole wrapping paper malarkey yet! Scrumpy got so into the present opening, he kept trying to open mine too!

We've had so many lovely evening walks, all cold and brisk so we wrapped up in hats and gloves and it was just lovely. Yesterday we went for a really long one all through the woods, just me, Tim and Sara. There was so much mud, which was great because I was trying out my new Radley wellies and Sara just loves mud...she was filthy! Other than that, yesterday was a proper duvet day - I got out of PJ's to walk Sara, and to back in them when we got home (mainly because she soaked my jeans while I was washing her)

Great pic Kimmikins,I love the cold crisp days when the sun is shining but here the paths and lanes are so slippery and Xena pulls on her lead so I do get scared of falling over.Took the chance today and went to the woods,I have to drive there,the main road was fine but the little lane towards the woods was like an ice rink!!!! first gear only it was so bad.The woods however were just beautiful lots of snow about and Xena just loves to dive into the ruts in the beetroot field as they are like streams well she did it today and just slid all the way along it was so funny to watch she just could not understand it at all,but she made up for it in the ditch too deep to freeze over totally.Can't play ball in the garden either as again to slippy,so indoor fun and a good chew bone to keep her quiet for a while as I am still trying to catch up on house work and ironing  Kristina
