So good to see Domino back to his old self.
His pain issues from last week must be under control now as he has got that spark back in his eyes and is feeling very playful again. hes still on gabapentin, tramadol and cimalgex for the rest of this week then we start tapering things off so hope everything has all settled down and we can start to build up his strength and do more than just go out on lead for toilet.
He had his first playtime with one of his doggy pals today. I let him off lead in my neighbours garden so he could have a bit of fun with Mitzi the black lab. he was a bit defensive at first as shes a big lump, younger and playful but they soon settled down. It was funny really as it took Mitzi about 5 minutes to clock there was something different about Domino. She just suddenly stopped and you could see her doing a double take then it was back to chasing him. She checked out his wound several times and he was fine with that too. Put him back on lead after a few minutes so he didnt overdo things and hurt himself. Might be a while before he meets up with his other pals on our walks but thats another hurdle over so he should feel a bit more confident when the time comes.
It's great to read that he's doing so well, and I really hope that this is the sign of things picking up for him. I can imagine Mitzi's face when she clocked Domino's new look, and it makes me giggle at the thought of it. How sweet that it took 5 minutes for her to realise...it shows how accepting and wonderful dogs are.
