Just an update on stuff guys,seems sometimes not enough hours in the day to get on here I try but time runs out on me anyway,don't know if any of you read the Daily Mail but was an artical in there about the nasty bug in the woods!!! I have not read myself but was told it is a killer!! seems to be very similar to a thing called ALABAMA ROT,3 woods around this area are infected so far the one I go to is not and none reported either so I still take Xena along with all the regulars but I have been cleaning her paws and face with Anti Bacterial wipes as soon as she gets into the car as a precaution.All us regulars have all said to that if we hear of any dog that gets sick a notice will be put on the trees to warn others.
Farmers have been busy here cutting down the fields and as a result have opened a beautiful foot path that Xena and I have been using in the evening walk it's beautiful,she can go off lead and we just love it.On the other hand another foot path that we use some der brain has put across an electric wire so as no one can get through ggrrrr!!! lovely walk too but owned privately and horsey people too,sure thats not legal but what can one do?? Hoping to go training tomorrow as not gone for a couple of weeks just circumstances,also agility too not been but my leg is much better now still have lump but not so painful so hopefully will be back on track this week.
Connor has another Motor bike and it comes here on Monday god forbib that will be 2 sat in my garden I am not happy about that either,shed for them has to be made or else!!!
Oh and another thing I can now get Xena to walk past Top John's 2 mad Jack Russels and in fact got her to sit while John and I had a chat,I was very proud of her for that.Ok now it's bat and ball time for Xena half hour then a bit of training,her dinner,get mine prepped,evening walk good 2 hours there then just chill out for the rest of evening.Hope you all have a good Saturday night.Kristina

it seems that xena is settling in to being a happy girl, she knows what is expected of her and happy that it keeps her safe...she is making choices about what she likes and doesn't like. a very lucky little dog to be given that freedom of choice in her life. she will bcome a very content grown up dog and make you very proud.
the evenings are beautiful at the moment up here, it is a real pleasure to be out with the dogs - I've been walking Cupes on his own along to the local park, Boo wants to come but I feel that by the end of the day she has done enough, when she overdoes it she suffers with arthritis pains, the concrete and pavement seem to make it worse, she is not ready to slow down mentally, and compared to a lot of dogs she probably jumps more fences and wades more rivers each day than they get to do in a week.
Cupes loves going to the park, we have a great mix of dogs that use it and most are happy, well socialised and have manners.
it makes me smile when Cupar uses his manners - holds back rather than runs directly up to others, shows confident submission to offer no threat and then invites play rather than demands it - owners ask me if he is nervous or scared?! if only they knew what he does for a living!

I think people are so used to seeing dogs that don't know how to interact properly with other dogs, that they misconstrue politeness for nerves or fear!

That's terrible news about the bug, Kristina, I hope it doesn't affect your woods, it would be such a shame to lose that beautiful setting. Good news about your leg, I hope it continues to heal and you're right as rain soon. All I can say about Connor's bike is grrrrr! You are far more patient than I, if Tim tried something like that I'd throw one major wobbly!

It's been pretty busy down here. Nothing particular, just lots of bits and bobs that seem to swallow up time. Lots of lovely walks with Sara, and we've taken her to the dog park a couple of times - she really needed to run off some energy! Long walks physically tire her out, but she seems to get really bouncy and ditzy if she hasn't been off-lead for a sprint in a while. The weather has definitely turned, I'm now having to wear jackets on walks a lot of the time! And I'm impatiently waiting for a puppy to turn up for adoption...Sara needs a little friend and damn it I need puppy breath!
