Took Xena for post op check Friday all ok she was well up for car ride until she realised where she was going,in the reception area she was trying to crawl onto my lap,the nurse came out to see her and she was happy to see her too then along came Gordan and she froze she was not a happy bunny then took a lot of persuasion to get her into the surgery but he said she was fine just KEEP HER QUIET!!!!! I said your having a laugh here,he said just do your best no walking out,no jumping e5056536arghwell you know what that's not in Xena's brain as yet.I have put benches under table so she just jumped over the whole thing!!!!!¬ she zaps around the garden like a tornado,I mean what can I do I spend hours doing stuff with her indoors but not enough and we have until next Friday before stitches come out oh Lordy it's going to be a long week I feel. Adrianne I did what you said I just threw out on the lawn a bucket load of treats for her to find it was funny watching her she was so fixed on this took her awhile too, passed 20 mins for her and me,guess I just need to be a bit patience here, took her round my neighbors this evening and let her go round her huge garden just for a change of scenery but this pup is bored stupid and really hard work right now.Kristina
Yes Kimmikins she has a Kong which I do fill for her keeps her quiet for awhile will try the mashed bananas though today her wound has been weeping and bleeding a bit so I have really been hard on her to be calm and quiet and trying to get her to lay down most of this day,she had lots of silly turns yesterday just running around and jumping up every thing thats whats caused it.I keep checking her every few mins thats all I seem to have done all day today,I have let her lay out in the garden with me so the air can get to the wound, sure she will be fine just need to be aware of this.Kristina
Kristina are you sure her wound is okay? Just a bit worried about it weeping especially as you say its also bleeding. Does it look red or swollen? You dont want it to get infected, maybe give the vet a ring to see if he thinks its okay.
Thanks for your concern Jordan Xena is fine today,I feel just a build up of fluid which has now seeped out I check her all the time,if I was very worried indeed I would take her back to the vet she is my precious little girl I would never put her at risk she is a very lively little pup doesn't have a clue that she has stitches in her belly she is more peeded off that she is not going out anywhere or playing her fave bat and ball everyday another 5 days to go before those stitches come out!!!! going to be a long week for both of us.Kristina
