I was walking reactive Pip today along the road with Libby and Dibs in his buggy when a dog he doesnt like suddenly came round the corner . he sounded off along with libby so quickly crossed the road , just got to the other side when the lead came away from the clip and he dashed back over the road and started rarring at this poor white staffie.
Luckily, no cars were coming and I rushed over the road carrying Libby and managed to get his collar . So relieved he didnt get hit by a car. Felt sorry for the old boy staffie he was barking at though , he didnt react fortunately and I apologised to the girl walking him .
Lesson learned from this and will be using a strong lead in future.
We all learn lessons,I have been eyeing up a lovely padded harness for Xena from a cheap shop in town as yet not bought as not sure of it's strength,it's pretty all flowers on it and padded but still not convinced it's safe for her.Kristina
I am a bit of a leash snob - I see so many and the difference between a named brand and well known pet store brand is incredible on quality ..Its important to me that if I recommend something - it has to be safe and soft - have seen a lot of plasic push/snap clips that break very quickly
