How sad to think that there are some breeds that may be on their way out! The Pharoah Hound looks so regal, and the Skye Terrier looks like a long haired Westie! And the English Setter...such a fantastic coat!

I wonder what causes a breed to lose interest among the masses?

I suppose with all the new breeds theyre inventing, labradoodles etc, these older true breeds dont stand a chance. People just jump on the bandwagon and follow fashion. Lets hope it turns around in time to save the breeds in danger.

Guess it's a new generation and a new way of dog wants,very sad and most of the new dogs will not be around in 10yrs time either as there will be another type of breed brought in,dread to think!! I think a lot of our old breeds will just cease to exist over the next few years,they will be either down sized or bred to another type that will create another type,think it's already happening.Kristina
