reckless I am lol . . . . . . so we have now got a service bell, came in the shop yesterday . . . . . . of course we tried it right away ! Hehe,I have told the guy in the shop what it is for and he said we will have to come back to demonstarte when Dodge will ring it lol ! First attempts . . . well haha . . . but he knew last night (after a coule of sessions in the afternoon) that I want him to make a noise with his paw lol,its the fine motoric (sp) of hitting the little knob on top that is a bit hit and miss . . . . showed hubby and he thinks I m mad lol !!!
Dont think it will be long for him to ding it properly . . . . . . he has learned how to open and close a cupboard door in a couple of days,so think I will combine those with the bell next week for him to maybe get a treat out of the cupboard after ringing the bell . . . . oh the possibilities !!
Oh aaaaaaaaaaand I have ordered a thundershirt for my boy last night,I am dead intrigued whether this would help him out and about meeting dogs he does not know . . . what do you reckon ? Obviously I want the trainer to see what he does when he meets an unknown dog before using it,but want it here to pop on him to maybe get his stress levels down a little, thats if he IS stressed . . . cant hurt, can it
I use thundershirts as part of a dogs treatment..they wont work too well alone, but teamed up with other methods they certainly get the dogs emotional state in a place more conducive to learning ..all dogs start at differing levels of stress s obviously some have further to go I'm sure it will help Dodge - be sure to start using it inside the house when he has good things happening..food and play and fun and relaxation ...or he may make an association with it being put on and having to face other dogs. people often don't put them on tight enough either..it needs to be snug. Cupes wears one for thunder..he is fine with fireworks -but he was alone at home 2 years ago when we had an enormous thunderstorm - a building at the end of the road was struck and sounded like a bomb, he has a bad reaction now, but we are getting there using the t/shirt and a sounds recording. I am convinced Bootsie thinks its an invisibility cloak! she is so confident in hers .. walks with her head held high and struts!

Aaaah !! Did not think about that he could build up a negative association with it,thank you !! I hope that it will be here before we meet the trainer,so that we have plenty of time to get him used to it with lots of possitive things . . . . . . his girth is 90 cm,so ordered x-large,hope thats not gonna be to big,it was in the right size bracket hehe, his chest is just so deep . . . . will have to fiddle with it once it is here,to make sure it is tight enough for him to feel the benefit thank you huni xx
@ Bootsie and bless Cupes little heart
he will ring the bell properly before doing the march without scratching my leg I tell ya . . . . will keep you updated via whats app lol xx
