RSPB Big garden bird watch this weekend

not so many birds in my garden this year in West London /Middx.

5 sparrows
3 feral pigeons
2 starlings
1 blue tit
1 great tit

The blackbird and robin didnt put in an apprearance.
never see a thrush  though we get parakeets . How things change !

Doing my watch this afternoon, roads too busy in the morning, they keep getting disturbed.

Parakeets are becoming much more common, a result of people letting them go when they stopped wanting to care for them. They're now reaching the flocking stage, there are that many around Heathrow...we used to get quite a few Parakeet strikes to aircraft.

Did quite well in my hour although the flock of Starlings that normally desends on my garden missed the boat for counting, my Robin also never showed up nor did the Goldfinches and Bluetits.

Neighbours garden ......NIL

They're still not for visiting the feeders next door!!!

What rubbish are your neigbours feeding? Maybe your garden feels safer...better ambience

Do you guys have cardinals over there in the UK? Seems to be a bumper crop of them here this year in northern Georgia USA
