We don't. I've found that the amount of chewy toys/bones etc that Sara gnaws on keeps her teeth pretty clean - though not as clean as when she was fed raw. She gets a Dentastick every morning, or a carrot, and so far her gnashers seem to be staying lovely.
My mum uses some sort of liquid floss? You spray it on a rope toy and as the chew it it's supposed to clean their teeth, has anyone heard of it or used it?
Not as often as I should, I'm lazy. They really don't like it, and with Katy its like a battle, I have to sit on her and hold her down! They have dentastix, and bones every so often. Their back teeth are clean, but the front don't really get that much use and they are a bit mucky. I need to get back into the habit of cleaning those ones.
I've used all sorts of products over the years, like seaweed powder, Tropiclean, tooth gel, floss stuff etc, none seem to work well. Katy has lots of tuggy rops which seem to help a bit. Oh and she eats carrots too.
I use carrots too, if I just had one dog I would use a big raw bone too, but I would cause stress to bring something so 'valuable' into the house just now ..Cupes is mentally mature and an adult male, Bootsie is still his mother and he respects the older wiser female, but I wouldn't want to rock that boat, they have an understanding on who gets what and when... a fresh bone would be asking for trouble.
