What tricks does your dog know? What tricks do you want to teach them?
Sara knows Sit, Down, Stand, Wait, Stay, On your bed, Paw, Beg, Bang (play dead, not 100% yet, but nearly!), Come front (from anywhere to sit in front of you), Finish (from come front around behind you to sit at your side), Leave it.
Scrumpy Jack knows Sit, Down, Stay, Leave it, Paw, Other Paw, Up, Hi-5, Beg, Play Dead. Wow, didn't realise Sara knew more tricks than him!
I want to work more on Touch with Sara, and really reinforce On your Bed with her for when people come to the door. That'd be great. I think Scrumpy Jack knows all he's going to, although he's still pretty switched on for an 8 year old!
Cupes demonstrates the 36 on this list when he is working..but he has more that we work on, and we put some together ..the best yet is working on communication..he has some sleigh bells hanging by the back door at nose height, he has a service bell down by his dish on the floor and a rope toy tied to the drawer where I keep his treats. about 3 months ago he opened his drawer, changed his mind and rang his dish bell and then indicated that he wanted outside by ringing his door bells...he wasn't confused...I keep his dinner outside in the shed...he actually told me 'I want a treat..no I want my dinner from outside' have I made a rod for my own back?

the best trick has to be the one where I leave a full English on a plate on the arm of my chair, then go back into the kitchen and make a cuppa, then wash my hands in the bathroom, then make a call or check my emails...maybe go and get the post off the doormat...and neither of mine have even sniffed it! but now i'm showing off! and I bet Cupar dribbles on it!

Tommy's pretty good actually, he knows: sit, down, roll over, paw, go and get your ball/the post in a morning, stay, leave food & toys and one we've taught him recently is meerkat:
Wow Cuper thats a shed load of tricks you can do, that mum of yours ever give you time off?
Well done Tommy great meerkat impression.
Domino can do sit, down, stand, wait, paw, other paw, Hi-5, leave it, back up, watch me, on your mat, stay, out of sight wait for two mins with no distractions, peek-a-boo, follow me, piggy back, bring snack dish when finished, pick up his blanket to put away after his nap, pick up bits and pieces when asked or volunteers, fetch his ball or toy, 'in the hand' when i want him to pass me his ball up, were learning to jump over me and crawl under me......he can it but not got the cues learnt yet, also started learning stick em up. Goodness didnt realise he knew so much till i saw it written down.
We have just mastered his party trick for Xmas......
...love that meerkat impression! and look at him with a cracker on his nose... such lovely dogs, I do work cupes hard on his tricks..if you hired a trainer and their dog was a bit rubbish at things you may wonder if the methods actually work?! that and my mums friend demonstrates at crufts every year doing the 'htm' (doggy dancing) and despite not being competitive I would feel like I was wasting an opportunity! - anything she can do .... his obedience isn't as good as it could be, but he is a behaviour demonstrator not an obedience one, and we have a lot of fun doing tricks together, I want to teach him to jump up on to my back next..he will do 'piggy back' (I kneel down, tap my head and he jumps up from behind me - front paws on each of my shoulder and gives a kiss, we sometimes finish it with me tucking in my head and he jumps 'over') but I would like to teach him to jump all four paws and stand on my back, he goes straight over when I try it. struggling with that one.
