Rainbow Bridge has another little soul today. Three total from this horrible disease, as he's gone to join his brothers at the bridge.
He really has left a hole, a legacy I didn't think he would. I hope he knows he was loved, and at least they all went having found homes, even if they never got to go to them. I'm not going to actively look for another dog, but I know that one will find me...it seems to be the way it works. I'm never looking for a dog when I find one, so I'll just grieve for little Rascal, Diefenbegger and Flip and know that our home is ready for 4 more paws when those paws show up.
that's such a shame, i'd like to have something wise to say, but there is nothing other than its so unfair. Another will benefit where he did not...and he will find you!

Thanks, Adrianne. You're right, it is so unfair. But you're also right in that another pup will benefit from it, and that pup is going to get so much frickin' love it's untrue!
Thought I'd share that there was one happy ending from this story. Luna, the only girl, never really succumbed to the disease at all beyond the initial gunky nose, and she's being booked onto a transport to the UK in a few weeks!
