Well don't know what happened to the pic? but thought I would tell you what Xena can do at home and I am so proud of her.First at any feeding time and she is getting fed 3 times a day although the lunch meal is being down sized---she will sit in front of the cupboard where her food is kept.I put it in her dish, she will then run to her place (just in front of a door) and I tell her to wait and she does maybe 5 seconds then I say ok and she will eat. Then she will pick up her bowl and bring it to me for her 2 biscuits again I will put her biscuits in her bowl again she will sit and wait until the ok is given. She will then pick up her bowl and take it back to the cupboard where I will then take it from her and put it away.So how's that?? she has also learnt, well last 2days anyway that running around with my kindling wood makes me cross, she so far just looks at it then goes and finds a toy instead, thats taken about 3wks to achieve. She has I feel learnt that Leave means Leave. She knows what bed time is when I get my jammies on she is some times on my bed before me and just snuggles down and sleeps all night.
Today her morning walk was pretty good and she walks for a good hour,we sat on the bench outside the village hall and we watched all the cars and tractors go by,only 1 young lad walked by she got excited but a bit of cheese took that away much more interesting to her.I also have realised that as we are approaching home she really starts to pull and gets wound up,only I think because by then she needs a wee!!!! first thing she does as soon as we go through the gate??
Another very curious thing I have noticed over the last couple of weeks very odd I feel if I go out of my driveway and turn left she is much better, turn right she's a nightmare??? one piece of grass verge in particular(and this is always on the way home) she freaks out totally and we are only by then a few yards from home??She just goes into 1 complete nutbag and throws herself into the air totally uncontrollable,I am now scared to take her that way,no amount of titbits will do anything to calm her down and I am at a loss to deal with silly situation, unless of just not turn right.Any ideas on this one?? Kristina
..just a quick answer before I head out this morning..she is thriving on routine and any change is really difficult for her as she is having to adjust on the spot...bit like being prepared for a meeting and finding out that it is a meeting about something totally different that you know a little about but didn't prepare for. The grass area will be full of smells not just on the surface from dogs and cats but from rabbits, and rodents beneath...she will be able to smell them and not comprehend them..that jumping up action is how she would learn to hunt for vermin..basically she is dealing with a sensory overload that she so far cannot understand ...just inexperience..// let her deal with all these things in her own time so as not to develop a fear of them.. xx
She is dong so well (and you too ) xx
